Identity Posture refers to an organization's overall security stance regarding user identities, access controls, and authentication mechanisms across its digital infrastructure. It encompasses the comprehensive view of how well an organization manages, monitors, and secures all user identities—including employees, contractors, partners, and service accounts—throughout their entire lifecycle.

A strong identity posture involves implementing robust identity and access management (IAM) practices, including multi-factor authentication, privileged access management, regular access reviews, and the principle of least privilege. Organizations with poor identity posture often struggle with excessive permissions, orphaned accounts, weak authentication methods, and inadequate visibility into who has access to what resources.
