Overview: Behavioral Biometrics

Quick Definition

Behavioral Biometrics is an identity verification strategy and matching set of technologies able to authenticate users' identities based on micro-patterns in everyday bodily movements. Behavioral biometrics identifies fingerprint-unique, individual variations and regularities in the ways that people type at a keyboard, use a mouse, or engage in other unremarkable behavior.

As an identity signal, behavioral biometrics provides very strong identity verification without relying on measurements of users' body parts (such as fingerprints or faces), the possession of particular artifacts (such as token fobs or phones), or secret knowledge (such as passwords or biographical details).
